About Us

PRESIDENT, Brian Seo
Business Administration & Pre-Law, Second Year
In addition to various leadership positions he's accrued over time, Brian Seo founded the Lee County High School Democrats chapter in Leesburg, Georgia. He chaired the organization for two years, met with Lee County and neighboring Dougherty Country Democratic Party leaders, Darton State College Democrats, and the Hon. Rep. Sanford Bishop Jr. of the United States Congress.
Brian served as President of the College Democrats of Georgia Tech as a freshman with an entire Freshman Executive Board.
In their first year, Brian and past Programming Director, Laura Margaret Burbach, formed the Platform Series, which critically evaluated current issues like women's reproductive rights, marriage equality, voting rights, environment and energy dependency, and immigration reform. Each issue was featured at a meeting and CDGT collaborated with other student organizations like the African-American Student Union, Asian-American Student Association, the Georgia Tech Pride Alliance, and the Georgia Tech Student Government Association.
Brian was featured in a collaborative interview for the Atlanta Journal Constitution in January, 2013, regarding President Barack Obama's first term and second Presidential campaign.
He also took part in the GayBloodDrive demonstration as a political consultant, hailing Secretary of State John Kerry and Senator Kathleen Sebelius, US Secretary of Department of Health and Human Services for their attempts to disband the federal ban against the LGBT community from donating blood.
Brian now serves on the Board of Directors of the Young Democrats of Georgia.

POLITICAL DIRECTOR, Amanda Nabors
Public Policy, Second Year
Amanda Nabors has been involved with the Young Democrats of Georgia since she was in high school. She served as president of her high school chapter at Parkview in Gwinnett County and is serving her second year as Political Director for the College Democrats of Georgia Tech.
She serves as President of the College Democrats of Georgia.
Amanda's biggest policy issues are women's issues, technology policy, and agricultural policy. Amanda is a member of the Psi Upsilon Fraternity on campus and also enjoys concerts, cooking, and camping.

MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR, Rohan Raman
Chemical Engineering, First Year
Rohan Raman is from Huntingtown, Maryland. Here at Georgia Tech, he is currently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering.
Rohan was appointed Membership Director of College Democrats in the fall of 2013. Outside of College Democrats, Rohan is heavily involved in Engineering without Borders where he serves as the clubs Historian. He also is involved in intramural basketball and plans on playing again in the fall of 2014.
Rohan joined the organization out of his interest in current events. He feels that many college students become overwhelmed with classes and schoolwork and lose track with the outside world. Rohan wants to make sure that College Democrats encourages the discussion and debate of current events so that students can stay active and involved. He hopes that this will build on the organization's membership and increase its diversity.
