The College Democrats of Georgia Tech is officially recognized by the Georgia Institute of Technology Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement as an active organization that serves the mission statement of the Institute.
The College Democrats of Georgia Tech is a chapter of the College Democrats of Georgia and the Young Democrats of Georgia.
The College Democrats of Georgia Tech functions as a grassroots organization, rallying the Georgia Tech campus and community to support, espouse, and take civic action for issues important to college students in our state and nation.
Through voter registration, issues discussions and programming, civic activism, the College Democrats of Georgia Tech push forward progressive values and common sense legislation in our Georgia Tech community, the greater Atlanta area, and state.
During 2012, the College Democrats of Georgia Tech registered over 5,000 students to vote, and made a record 1,250 campaign phone calls. In addition, the College Democrats of Georgia Tech campaigned on the ground in Florida, knocking on doors for the Obama 2012 campaign.
The College Democrats of Georgia Tech received the "Program of the Year" award from the Young Democrats of Georgia Convention 2013.
The College Democrats of Georgia Tech President Emeritus, Brian Seo, received the "New Young Democrat of the Year" award from the Young Democrats of Georgia Convention 2012.
